Hilton’s Green Breakfast Campaign records a 62% reduction in food waste across 13 UAE hotels
Hilton has achieved an impressive 62% reduction in food waste across 13 hotels in the UAE through its Green Breakfast Campaign. Partnering with Winnow, Hilton utilized AI technology to optimize breakfast buffets, cutting down on overproduction while maintaining guest satisfaction. This initiative, aligned with the UAE's National Food Waste Initiative and Hilton’s Travel with Purpose 2030 goals, saved 400,000 meals and prevented 726 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
By tracking waste in real-time, Hilton chefs made data-driven adjustments to portion sizes and food offerings, reducing waste in key areas like pastries, fruit, and hot dishes. Hilton’s campaign not only curbed food waste but also set a new standard for sustainability in the hospitality industry.
